Bookkeeping for e-commerce sellers
Shopify, Amazon, eBay, WooCommerce, Stripe, PayPal and Afterpay – we reconcile every payout, track inventory and COGS, and get your GST right.
- Every sales channel reconciled to the cent
- Inventory, COGS and gross margin tracked
- GST on imports and overseas sales handled
Online sales, offline headaches?
E-commerce books are notoriously messy. Payouts arrive net of fees, refunds and chargebacks; payment gateways settle on different days; and inventory, shipping and import costs make true profit hard to see. Many online sellers overpay GST or don't know their real margins.
We specialise in reconciling multi-channel e-commerce businesses, using summary tools that turn thousands of orders into clean, accurate journals.
- Payouts never match sales reports
- Fees, refunds and chargebacks everywhere
- Not sure of true product margins
- Import GST and duties confusing
- Stock values are a guess

A practical guide to e-commerce bookkeeping
E-commerce businesses selling on Shopify, Amazon, eBay or WooCommerce face a unique challenge: payouts arrive net of fees, refunds and chargebacks, often combining several days of sales. Recording payouts as sales understates revenue and hides the fees, refunds and chargebacks that eat into your margin. The right approach uses clearing accounts and summary tools such as A2X or Link My Books so every payout reconciles back to orders.
Inventory is the other big piece. Tracking stock, landed costs (freight, duty and import GST) and cost of goods sold is essential to know your true gross margin by product and channel. GST also needs care: domestic sales, exports and imported goods are all treated differently.
We specialise in reconciling multi-channel online stores, tracking inventory and margins and lodging accurate BAS, so you know which products and channels are really making money.

E-commerce & online retail bookkeeping FAQs
Why don't my Shopify payouts match my sales?
Payouts are net of fees, refunds, chargebacks and adjustments and often cover several days of sales. We use clearing accounts and summary tools like A2X so every payout reconciles to the underlying sales.
Do I charge GST on overseas orders?
Goods exported overseas are generally GST-free if the export rules are met. Sales to Australian customers are generally taxable once you're registered. We set up your tax rates correctly per channel and region.
Can you help with inventory?
Yes. We track stock purchases, landed costs and cost of goods sold so your gross margin is accurate, and we can integrate inventory systems like Cin7 or Unleashed.
I'm behind on my e-commerce books – can you help?
Yes. Our catch-up service can reconcile historical payouts and lodge overdue BAS.
